Okay, so I'm finally getting around to filling this thing out (sort of).

I am a composer/musician/teacher ... which means that I'm usually more busy than I'd like to be, but never far from thing that I love: music. And yes, most people love music... but you'd really have to an artist to understand what I mean what I say that... especially all the unspoken loves/eccentricities that go with it. For example, I don't typically listen to music in my car... or at home... in fact, most of the time that I listen to music, its usually to learn something for a gig... or get inspiration of some sort... or when I'm doing my own music (of course).

I like good conversation, and nostalgic moments. I have keen interest in politics and philosophy... though, I try not to be "deep" all the time... but if you can't handle deep, I'm not your man (unless you're can confound with your wondrous, albeit simple ways... I know a few that could I do). Movies are great, spending time with anyone worthwhile makes life worthwhile. I'm not religious, though I am spiritual. My favorite vegetable is carrots (I know, random)... and I just bought a flat screen TV last year after year of not having one (by choice).... a TV that si rarely watched, but makes an awesome monitor for my computer... and writing orchestral score in Sibelius... and we're back to music.

My favorites: John Williams, Stevie Wonder, John Legend, John Mayer, John Coltrane... (Basically, anyone named John...psych)... and of course the music by me. I also like Coldplay, Rufus Wainwright, and most film composers and Beyonce (yes, Beyonce... her arranger whoever he/she is a genius). Not into Hip Hop too much, but Kanye makes listen, as does Eminem. County does have set at the table, though she is rarely in attendance. Jazz, albeit wonderful, is not as frequent as Iâ??d like. Rock for inspired moments, and R&B when the mood is right. And lets us not forget, Michael Jackson.

Ho there, OKCupiders! Well, what's there to say? I'm pretty straight forward in everything I do. I'm opinionated, saucy (but in a masculine way), ribald, and highly intelligent. Few people will ever encounter me and say unto themselves, "Boy, Harold had no effect upon my life at all. I did not learn a thing from his sagacious council." Does that sound conceited of me? I don't mean to come off that way, but let's face facts: every one of my friends have told me at one time or another that I have positively influenced their life. In other words, I'm great with advice.

I work for a non-profit agency, and I'm a part-time college student, with a career interest in communications, and I regularly blog and interact on the Internet and elsewhere, with an interest in music, pop culture, movies, progressive politics, and more.

I'm probably a little shy at first but once I feel I know someone then I'm very open and probably a little zany.

I love it when couples are amazing together, I call them 'super couples'. sometimes one times two equals more than two. This happens when love generates support, respect and admiration. They love what they are doing, individually and together, and are fed by the love of the other. I do not believe that opposites attract has anything to do with opposite values and interests. I have dated based more on physical attraction than the deep down already. It doesn't last and we weren't good for each other for the long run but that doesn't mean that we were bad people and I do not regret. I believe that the term 'playing games' can mean that the other is doing things that the speaker doesn't like. I want to get to know a woman who plays the same games as me so that we can be playful together. I am talking games of fun and life's challenges, not head games of manipulation where there are winners and losers. Everyone wins in my games. I am really dedicated to local community. I love creating and manifesting those creations. I want to leave everywhere I spend time better than when I found it. I like people that add to the mix. I believe in impeccability and strive towards that with my words and actions. It means to be true to myself and others in a way I believe in. I am not perfect and am not seeking someone who's job it is to be my personal always on critic. It hurts to think that my loved one does not believe in, respect or trust me. No should not be a default answer. I very much appreciate honest, helpful evaluation that comes with knowledge and thoughtfulness and it feels like love, not to be confused with syrupy sweetness. I like to think that I behave in ways to get the best out of what my life can be and would rather reap the rewards in my relationships. In order for any relationship to be healthy I want to believe in, trust and respect you too and your causes. You don't have to be super political; but you should have causes and passions. You should have an idea what this world needs and be putting something of yourself toward filling that need in some way. You should have interests outside yourself and your circle of loved ones. Apathy, destruction and depression are not attractive lifestyles to me. I'd rather be pushed or tugged than weighted. These are deep down traits and it takes skills to know you. It does not happen in a date or three, although I may know real soon if you could be the one, as what you are will surface right away, it always does. The same process making friends, in steps, needs to happen in deciding to be romantic for me to truly be into you. But once I am, you've got me. What that means exactly is something that we would cultivate; but I am certainly faithful in a relationship.
By now you are feeling what I say or not. If so, please read onto my interests and favorite activities. Yours should overlap enough so that we can spend time together off the bed. You don't get to know about the sexual stuff yet, that comes after we make friends.

Interests include art, community activism, green energy and green living with mother earth, gardening, urban farming, natural holistic living, healing and consuming, peaceful solutions, adventuring, traveling, making friends and being with friends, collaborating, projects, communicating, educating, learning, bicycling, walking, preparing meals for 2 or 2,000, collecting, giving and receiving, the transitional movement, if you don't know what that is look it up, pretty cool and its happening in MI too, Jean of Arc, getting off the grid, food security and alternative energy, the color red, nature, culturally rich and friendly towns like New Orleans and Detroit, music, did I say art?, performance, dancing, laughing, writing and receiving long letters and trying new things.
